GM

The RGM-79, aka GM (ジム, pronounced "Jim"), is a mass production model based on the prototype Gundam. At first it was constructed largely from spare parts taken from the Side 7 secret development project codename "V." The armor and weapons are made from inferior materials or, like the Beam Spray Gun, are simply scaled down versions of the equipment that the Gundam uses. Its pre-game lobby icon is a blue GM head with no other indicator.

The basic GM is the template that other Federation mobile suits are based on. Aside from the main weapon, it is equipped with twin head-mounted Vulcan Cannons, a Beam Saber, and a large Shield. Its stats are evenly balanced between different DEF types and ATK types. This suit also has the largest amount of Mid-type Custom Parts slots, and aside from the base HP being lower it is equal to the Zaku II in all aspects (though it gains a shield that the Zaku lacks).
